I thought they were dead, but they are still moving. They are making the sweetest little sounds. The mom and dad are interesting to watch because one or the other is usually sitting on them. So far, only two eggs have hatched or maybe three as far as we can tell. My student teacher sees them better than I do. The opening of the nest is rather small and the birds have covered the opening of the back with newspaper and other "things" from the cage. My biggest dilema now is what to do with them over Thanksgiving break. I don't want to move the babies. I'm thinking of just leaving them with lots of food, a clean cage, and plenty of water. Any other ideas? I'll be in Kentucky. The school is open a couple of those days.
